School Profile
The founding of SMEA Negeri Banyuwangi began with a satellite class (filial) of SMEA Negeri Jember in 1967, opening the Bookkeeping and Commerce programs. On 1 June 1968 it was nationalized as a state school under Decree No.: 223/UKKB/1968. Over the years, the school relocated several times: from 1967–1969 it was located on Jalan Maluku 1, then moved to Jalan Jaksa Agung Suprapto until 1982 (now SMP Negeri 5 Banyuwangi), and finally moved to its current building on Jalan Wijaya Kusuma 46.
It is also worth noting that SMK Negeri 1 Banyuwangi was designated a National Standard School (SSN) in 2004 under Decree No.: 2833/C5.3/MN/2004 dated 15 October 2004. It earned the ISO 9001:2000 Certificate in 2008 and ISO 9001:2008 with certificate number QEC24934, and was designated an International Standard Pilot School (RSBI) from 2008 onward, based on the Decree of the Director of Vocational Secondary School Development, Directorate General of Primary and Secondary Education Management, Ministry of National Education, Decree No.: 3084/C5.3/Kep/KU/2008, July 2008, concerning the Designation of 105 Vocational Schools Receiving International Standard School (SBI) Assistance in 2008, and the Decree No.: 4294/C5.3/Kep/KU/2009, dated 7 October 2009. This status was discontinued in 2013.
